____________

A "Pause for Words"

Finding Money

“Look down!”

A shiny penny on the ground,

Grandma never understood how

I could walk past one and not bother

to stoop and pick it up.

“You don’t know what you’re missing

when you don’t look down.”

As an adult, I’ve grown to look

where I walk. I have found some nickels,

a lot of pennies, and a few dimes.

My best finds, $10 in a restaurant parking lot,

and $20 on a morning stroll.

I guess it does pay

to look at the ground.

Grandma, I hope you are looking down,

proud.

Community Support

Quality of Place Plan for Hancock County

From Cate Field, Artist | Holistic Wellbeing Coach

Open Immersive Reader

"Art has been a part of human society for thousands of years, serving as a means of creative expression and a reflection of the cultural and social values of a community. Art is never created in isolation.

The arts are powerful tools that can be utilized to encourage conversation and benefit communities in many ways.

Art can be a catalyst for conversation. Art has the power to evoke emotions, challenge perceptions, and spark conversations. Public art installations, murals, and street art can serve as a catalyst for conversation and bring people together.

Equally, a small group of people coming together for chat over a coffee, can inspire change. I am fascinated by the power of conversation. Conversations with dear friends, old friends, family and complete strangers can lead to wonderful ideas and thoughts. Add some drawing, painting, craft, music, dance… and wow!

Art can promote community.

… When we come together to create and share thoughts and ideas, when we come together to produce a collaborative piece of art, we immediately connect.

Art has the potential to bring about positive change in communities. It encourages conversation, promotes community engagement, raises awareness, and inspires action.

WATCH FOR MORE DEVELOPMENTS.
